The Hydro-Acoustic Sound Table is a breakthrough in technology. This system was created by Sacred Innovations to allow the client to receive a gentle infusion of soothing vibrations directly into the body.
The Hydro-Acoustic Sound Table uses specially designed devices to transform electrical acoustic signals into wave vibrations in the water. They are mounted into a unique dampening system to isolate the vibrations. This helps to maintain the vibrations in the water and minimize vibrations escaping into the floor.
The acoustics vibrations are then sent through the water and into the body of the clients. Since water is very dense medium relative to air, it is extremely effective for the transmission of acoustic energy. Our bodies are made up of more than 85% water. As a certified Vibroacoustic Harp Therapy (VAHT) practitioner, I have used the Hydro-acoustic Table in my work for more than 10 years. My complete home studio system consists of a 46-string Salvi pedal harp equipped with 5 pick-ups positioned at various points in the harp to achieve the widest range of frequencies. The 5 pick-ups carry the vibrations through a ‘snake’ connected to a QCS Audio RMX 850 power amp. This is what delivers the vibrations of the harp through the water and to the person on the Hydro-acoustic bed receiving the VAHT.
The use of the Hydro-Acoustic Sound Table in Vibroacoustic Harp Therapy:(VAHT)
VAHT is an energy therapy based on the same principles as those evolved from ancient Chinese medicine. Think of it as Acupuncture, Reflexology or Massage therapy without the direct physical contact of the therapist. People experiencing VAHT describe it as a deep “inner massage”. When I began my work at Hawkesbury District General Hospital, it was with patients suffering from Fibromyalgia. For these people, almost any physical contact was too painful. Vibrations directed at specific pain areas in the body and through gently heated water proved to be soothing and relaxing at the least and deeply therapeutic at best. Aside from Fibromyalgia, I have used the Hydroacoustic Table with those suffering specific and varied physical ailments such as back and neck pain. VAHT has also proven effective with children and adults on the Autism spectrum.
